This equipment is designed for biopharma manufacturing operations. Cell and gene therapies require specialized facilities and equipment, some of which is common to pharmaceutical manufacturing but other equipment is specific to this field.

Isolators, for example, are now commonly used in pharma, as they allow GMP processes to take place in Grade A closed environments. The same aseptic controlled environment requirement applies to this field.

In addition, though, lab equipment needs to include incubators. That is why we designed a unique modular solution, called FlexyCult, that supports cell therapy needs from R&D to much higher volumes as in cell factories.

What type of isolator is best for cell therapy procedures?

The Modular Cell Culture Isolator is a Comecer concept describing an isolator integrated with all the necessary equipment to perform Cell Therapy processing (incubator, centrifuge, refrigerator, freezer and more). It is customized to exactly meet customer workflow and process requirements.

What is a cell and gene therapy incubation system?

It is an incubation system for advanced therapy labs called FlexyCult. It is deployed by our clients along with our isolators as an alternative to a cleanroom. Each incubation module has Grade A air/CO2 circulation, along with a wall heating system. This is needed for cell culturing. Depending on your budget and needs, your FlexyCult system can have few or many incubation modules.

One of our customers, for example, uses 144 FlexyCult incubators in their new cell therapy production plant, along with other supporting equipment like docking stations, cell culture isolators and VPHP generators.
