The manipulation and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals: do it safely

警告!本页内容仅提供以下语言版本: 英语 - 意大利语

Do you need to manipulate and dispense technetium and low-energy SPECT radioisotopes in safety conditions and in Class A area?

The Comecer BH Series is fully certified in accordance with the EN12469 Microbiological Safety Cabinets – Class II standard and is specifically designed to work with radiopharmaceuticals. This compliance ensure maximum safety for the operator, the product and the environment. It also means that the working area meets GMP Class A requirements. The hood is partially shielded with lead and it can be equipped with systems for the Mo99/Tc99m generators elution, use of dose calibrator and temporary waste storage. In the working area, shieldings are present in frontal wall, lateral walls and under the worktop. There is also a lead shielded sliding glass window. You can see we take safety very seriously.

BH Hood + FEBO Dispenser

Do you need to optimize your workflow?

With the generator compartment, the ionization chamber and the waste compartment, the BH Series allows a safe and functional working area. The operators can perform production and dispensing of technetium and low-energy SPECT radiopharmaceuticals in a single working area without interruption and in compliance with GMP directives. BH series has a ventilation system that makes the working area compliant with GMP Class A requirements.

Are you considering other alternatives?

Handling and dispensing technetium and low energy SPECT radiopharmaceuticals in unshielded hoods or in workbenches with mobile protection systems is less safe for the operator than with the BH Series.  On the other hand, shielded hot cells are a much more expensive solution compared to a BH Series shielded hood.
Furthermore, using a shielded hood for manipulations of radiopharmaceuticals in aseptic conditions is in line with current regulations for hospitals and radiopharmacies.

The Comecer Solution

BH Series Hoods are biohazard Class A hoods specifically designed to work with radioisotopes.

A BH Series hood coupled with a FEBO dispenser allows technetium and low energy SPECT radiopharmaceuticals manipulation and dispensing with maximum safety for the operator (less exposure to radiation and more microbiological safety) and permits work in a GMP classified environment.

Advantages of the Comecer BH Series compared to alternatives

SAFETY: the BH Series is certified in accordance with EN12469 Microbiological Safety Cabinets – Class II and is specifically designed to work with radiopharmaceuticals. This ensures maximum safety for the operator, the product and the environment. This also means that the working area meets GMP Class A requirements.

OPTIMIZED WORKFLOW: with its shielded technical inferior compartments, the BH Series allows a safe and functional working area. The operators can perform production and dispensing of technetium and low-energy SPECT radiopharmaceuticals in a single working area without interruption and in compliance with GMP directives.

FLEXIBILITY: technical compartments and shielding are configurable in several ways, in order to meet all customer needs and working methods.

LCD MONITOR: when an optional IBC Dose Calibrator is installed as well, the hood is equipped with a 17-inch LCD monitor inside the working chamber on the frontal wall. This monitor is linked to the dose calibrator software and it allows reading and control of many parameters related to laminar flow and operator activity.
