GlaxoSmithKline is one of the two winning companies in the Social Impact category for the ISPE “Facility of the Year Awards 2020“, with their production plant in Parma (Italy).
The new award is the Social Impact Category, in this case for constructing and commissioning a dedicated facility in 2015 to support the development and manufacture of an investigational medicine for people living with HIV who have few or no treatment options remaining.
ISPE’s Facility of the Year Awards is an annual program that recognizes state-of-the-art projects utilizing new, innovative technologies to improve the quality of products, to reduce the cost of producing high-quality medicines, and to demonstrate advances in project delivery.
In this important and challenging project, Comecer is proud to have provided the Dispensing Isolator used to dispense and mix API plus excipient and load them via containment valve into the final BIN container.
At this Italian GSK plant, Comecer has also installed a variety of other isolators for high containment or aseptic requirements, in standard and customized versions to fit customer process needs:
