FILTRATION

Waarschuwing! De inhoud van deze pagina is alleen beschikbaar in de volgende talen: Engels - Italiaans- Russisch

Isolators are intended to separate a restricted work space from the surrounding environment preventing contact between operators and the protected enclosure. A key requirement is that air exchange with external environment is accomplished only trhough HEPA (HIGH EFFICIENCY PARTICULATE AIR filter) or ULPA (ULTRA LOW PARTICULATE AIR filter) or other microbial retentive filtration systems.

To filter air that enters/exits the isolator the following types of filters are used: HEPA and ULPA.

HEPA is the acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter which particule and are able to remove from the air at least 99.998% of particles of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria and any airborne particles with a size of 0,3μm (micrometers) and larger.

ULPA stands for Ultra Low Particulate Air Filter and have an efficiency (or partlicle level profile) of 99,999% with particles size of 0,3μm and larger. A large part of the users do not find necessary to use ULPA filters in isolation technology, but they can be used in certain application (semiconductorm, pharmaceutical) to enhance the filtration and ventilation system.
