UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. It is the organization with the global authority to influence decision-makers, and the variety of partners at grassroots level to turn the most innovative ideas into reality. That makes us unique among world organizations, and unique among those working with the young. UNICEF works closely with multi-national corporations, national companies and small- to medium-sized businesses to identify, design and implement alliances that leverage the strengths of the corporate sector on behalf of the world’s children.

Our partnership with UNICEF is an important part of our company’s initiatives. As part of our social responsibility policy we have become involved in actively promoting UNICEF’s initiatives. We firmly believe in the values UNICEF stands for and the activities it undertakes throughout the world.
In the context of the «Schools for Africa» initiative, UNICEF works alongside governments, local authorities, communities and other partners in Africa’s most needy countries including Angola, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, South Africa and Zimbabwe to create those conditions that will attract children to school, keep them there and provide them with a safe and protective environment where they can learn and play.
The UNICEF Schools for Africa International Fundraising Campaign focuses on helping the most disadvantaged – orphans, children living in extreme poverty, and girls. Scalability and sustainability are key elements of the campaign. Villagers work alongside UNICEF to build local schools themselves, then take over responsibility for maintaining and running them. At the same time, UNICEF strives to help national agencies institutionalize and scale-up the Schools for Africa approach and framework, so that local successes can be replicated many times over, across the country.
