The European Journal of Medical Physics has just published a scientific article titled “GEANT4 simulation of cyclotron radioisotope production in a solid target.” The author is Floriane Poignant, PhD candidate in Medical Physics at the Institut de Physique Nucléaire de Lyon, and the project involved the cyclotron at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) in Adelaide.
The article discusses the use of Monte Carlo numerical analysis for a simulation of solid target yields. The SAHMRI site is equipped with our ALCEO 2.0 system and Comecer contributed by providing analysis data and 3D models of our solid target. The result will be useful not only for future SAHMRI experiments on Cu64, Zr89 and even Ga68 but also for other production and research centers around the world.
